Associate Professor Theodore Sawruk and Assistant Professor Jason
Hegenauer traveled to Sweden and Switzerland to present papers on
historic Connecticut structures and passive design sustainability. “How
Sustainable was Connecticut’s Historic Saltbox House?” by T. Sawruk, T.
Adekunle, J. Hegenauer was presented at the 3rd
International Conference on Energy Efficiency in Historic Buildings in
Visby, Sweden. “The Italianate Villa: Natural Ventilation in the
Service of Family and Home during the 1800s,” by T. Sawruk, and Natural
Ventilation and the New England Saltbox: Historically Proven,
Sustainable Renewed,” by J. Hegenauer & T. Sawruk were presented at
the 13th International Conference on Advanced Building Skins
in Bern Switzerland. Professor Sawruk was also the Session Chair for
Natural Ventilation and Thermal Behavior of the Building Envelope. All
three papers are available online or via the conference proceedings,
located on the conference websites.
