During the Fall 2012
semester, the students in Professor Ladimer Nagurney's BE 401
Bioinstrumentation course chose research articles on Biomedical Devices or
Technology to read, prepare an executive summary, and make a presentation to
the class. On Thursday, December 13, 2012, the students presented their
summaries to their fellow students and received their feedback.
Among the choices of topics
were: Microwave Imaging for Breast Cancer, First Deployments of Augmented
Reality in Operating Rooms, Toward More Precise Radiotherapy of Lung Tumors,
Challenges in Body Area Networks for Healthcare: The MAC, Fusion Managing
Healthcare Records at Cloud Scale, and Easy to Swallow Medical Telemetry.
Biomedical Instrumentation
is a required course for senior Biomedical Engineering Students and an elective
course for other Engineering Students. This past fall there were 7 students
enrolled in the course.
